Catalonia´s Independence Day
Every year the people of Catalonia celebrates the Independence Day on 11th September, when Catalonia troops where defeated by the army of Spain at the Siege of Barcelona in 1714. 299 hundreds years later, in 2013, Catalonian people commemorates this date protesting peacefully and claiming the independence with a human chain, called the Via Catalana, of more than 1.5 million persons, spreaded 400km along the whole catalonian land.
