During a two year education at Norsk Fotofagskole (Norwegian Technical College of Photography), he quickly knew which direction he wanted to go in photography. While making his first documentary project shooting nightlife in the clubs and streets of Trondheim, he found a passion and interest for photojournalism. Alexander is currently based in Oslo, Norway, but has been photographing the majority of his portfolio in other countries. Thailand, United States, Canada, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea and Japan are some of the other locations. Celebrations, politics, disasters, minor conflicts and social issues are often seen in his work. Alexander´s images has been used by The Economist, Der Speigel, TIME, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Sun, Internazionale, Bild and many other newspapers and magazines across the globe.
Alexander works as a contract freelance photojournalist for 4SEE Photographers, ZUMA Press, Demotix and Polaris Images.
Why photojournalism? “There is nothing more exciting than photographing people and places in different situations; you never know what is going to happen around the next corner. And by photographing the things I do, I feel a responsibility to share my experiences and stories with the rest of the world”
