biography
Eduardo Leal was born in Porto, Portugal in 1980. Travelling was always a passion for him but just after his first travel at the age of 21, he realized that he could tell about the world not only by words but also with images.
He travelled during his 20’s to Asia and South America where he had the opportunity to explore and develop his photographic eye.
Worked as a volunteer for a Peruvian NGO, where he taught and developed a project with the support of Kodak-Peru. In the project local children could learn the art of photography and show their personal views of their world through the camera. This project finishes with an exhibition in Total Kunst Gallery in Edinburgh.
He is particularly interested in the Latin America social issues and Portuguese traditions.
Eduardo graduated in Journalism at Escola Superior de Jornalismo (ESJ) and has an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at London College of Communication.
He is also a consultant to The Arpad A. Busson Foundation on the Cuban in Revolution and The Struggle During the Apartheid photography collections.
He is based between London and Caracas.
